Welcome to the BAScii Check-in Application ("Service"). This Application is operated by the Bachelor of Arts and Science in Integrated Innovation (BAScii) program at Chulalongkorn University ("we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the Thailand Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019) ("PDPA").

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following types of personal data to facilitate class attendance tracking:

  • Identity Data: Full name, Chulalongkorn University Student ID, and Email address (via Google Sign-In).
  • Biometric/Image Data: Photographs taken during the check-in process for identity verification purposes.
  • Technical Data: Login timestamps, IP addresses, and device information used to access the Service.
  • Attendance Records: Dates and times of your class check-ins.

3. Purpose of Collection

We use your data for the following lawful purposes:

  • To verify student identity and record class attendance accurately.
  • To prevent fraud and ensure academic integrity.
  • To generate attendance reports for academic grading.
  • To manage and secure the Application and our systems.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal data and attendance records for the duration of your enrollment in the course plus a period necessary for academic record-keeping and auditing (typically 2-5 years after course completion), after which it will be securely deleted or anonymized.

5. Disclosure of Info

Your data is strictly confidential and will only be disclosed to:

  • Authorized university personnel (lecturers, registrars, administrative staff) for academic purposes.
  • Legal authorities if required by Thai law or court order.

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

6. Your Rights (PDPA)

Under the PDPA, you have the right to:

  • Access and obtain a copy of your personal data.
  • Request rectification of inaccurate personal data.
  • Request deletion or suspension of your personal data (subject to academic regulatory requirements).
  • Withdraw consent for specific data processing activities.
